Antique French Oak Vendange Table c. 1880

Sale Sold out

A beautiful slice of French history and life! This is an antique French provincial vendange table, c. 1880. Les Vendages (the grape harvest) occurs during the autumn months in France and throughout Europe. These tables were central to the post-harvesting celebrations for the vineyard workers along with their family and friends. Used as wine tasting tables, their tilt top construction was meant for easy storage in the wine cellars when not in use.

If you look closely, the tabletop has two magnum wine bottle ring marks. This one boasts a beautiful oak grain, and some larger-than-most dimensions at 40.5" diameter. Now the perfect dining table, game/puzzle table, or occasional table.

Dimensions: 40.5" round; 26.75"H; when folded, footprint is 16.25"

Please note: antiques can (and often do!) come with dents, chips, cracks, stains, uneven coloring, and signs of their old age—small details that contribute to big character.
